Cage: Basement[edit | edit source]

Note: This page contains spoilers.

Overview[edit | edit source]

This cage starts off dark; night vision is required to look into the cage. When using night vision, a doll becomes visible in the cage. Every day, the doll moves closer to the camera. After a few days, the doll disappears, and the next-day newspaper will report on the gruesome death of a family which owned it. After killing its owners, the doll supposedly sends itself to you by mail. The doll can be sold for $20 and will come back "slightly bloodstained" after a few days; it can be sold again for 15$, and will come back "clearly bloodstained" after a few more days; it can be sold yet again for $10, but it is impossible to get it back before the game ends (Day 16). The doll is harmless, if kept at any stage.

News[edit | edit source]

Doll news.png

This is one of the few dead cages which trigger news.

Family brutally murdered
The lifeless bodies of the three members of the Scott-Andrews family were found in their home this morning. The violence of the murders shocked both neighbors and the police.

Effects on karma[edit | edit source]

Since apparently the dolls murders somebody every time it's sold, selling it makes plant go one stage down (e.g. from 7 white flowers to 4) each time.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • This cage is referred to as "Diabolic Doll" in Fictiorama source files.
  • This cage is a reference to an indie video game "Five Nights at Freddy's".
  • There is at least one report of being able to save the family if you keep checking back on the doll's movements but it has not been confirmed.
  • There is at least one report of having the cage and never getting the doll but it has not been confirmed.
  • A common misconception is that the doll kills your upstairs neighbor due to a slight similarity to a photo in the newspaper article. The neighbor, however, doesn't live in a house, is not known to have any family and also keeps visiting after the news.
